Fitting you to be Ship Shape

Would you buy a size 8 shoe?

Sure you would - if a size 8 shoe fit your foot. But what if you're not a size 8? What if you're an 8 wide? Or not quite an 8? What then? If size 8's were all you could buy, then you'd have to see a shoe maker.
The good news is that in real life, shoes come in all shapes and sizes. The bad news is that golf clubs do not. They generally come in the same shape, size, and lofts - and in our opinion, none of them fit you properly (for the reason why, see our page on True Length Technology™.) Sure, sometimes you get lucky, and find that one-in-a-million driver or three wood that seems to do well in the sim or at the range. But what happens when you get it out on the course? It's just as useful as the driver it replaced. The difference? Now you're out $500, and you have two drivers now, neither of which are doing you any good.

So what now? You come see us. Through a quality fitting session, we determine where you're at, where you want to be, and how we can get you there through equipment changes. How the session goes is largely dependent on what it is you're trying to accomplish.

What can I expect?

First, you can expect to be treated with respect. You can expect that every effort will be made to ensure that the clubs that leave the shop will be the best clubs we can make. You can expect that you'll interact with knowledgeable staff who will do their best to answer all your questions.

Every fitting starts with a baseline. To know where we're going, we need to know where we're coming from. We'll evaluate your current clubs and discuss your game to see where you're at. We'll talk about your goals, take some measurements and probably hit some balls with some test clubs to see where you may go. We'll employ tools like a swing speed radar, high speed cameras, impact markers and a launch monitor to gather data about your swing. Depending on what we're fitting for, we may even have you do a little paperwork. This is the part of the process that should take the most time - mistakes made here lead to mistakes in clubhead and shaft selection, which lead to clubs that don't fit best!

Once we've figured out your specs and your preferences, we'll make the clubs. Then it's time for a little dynamic lie adjustment while watching ball flight at the range. After you take delivery of your new clubs, we fully expect to see you back after a half-dozen rounds or so to perform any necessary tweaking. Remember - we're happy once you're happy.
